Frequently asked questions

Common questions from investors

Where does my money sit?

Structured investments are held by Stropro, an AFSL-licensed nominee (AFSL 533443). Stropro holds legal title on your behalf under a bare trust, while you remain the beneficial owner. Funds are held in designated trust accounts, segregated from Stropro's operational accounts. Following execution, Stropro settles the product with the issuer through Clearstream, a global clearing and settlement system used by major banks and custodians.

Is my money safe?

Client funds sit in segregated trust accounts under ASIC Regulatory Guide 133. Stropro is audited annually under the ASIC FS71 framework. Clearstream provides institutional custody and settlement infrastructure. Investment products still carry risks, including issuer, market, liquidity and product-specific risks; review the relevant PDS and term sheet before investing.

Can I get my structured investment back?

You can direct Stropro in writing to transfer your holdings, and Stropro must action the transfer within seven business days. This refers to transfer of the holding and does not necessarily mean early redemption at the original investment amount.

Who can access the trust accounts?

Only authorised operations personnel can access the trust accounts.

Do I own the structured investment?

Yes. Stropro is the legal holder as nominee, but you retain beneficial ownership. Holdings are recorded in Stropro's registry and reconciled against underlying positions held through Clearstream.

Who holds my shares and cash?

Shares are held on the applicable Australian or overseas registry in the client's name. Australian holdings are CHESS sponsored. Cash is held in a Macquarie Cash Management Account in the client's name; MPC Markets does not hold client cash.
